Its true that some people watch some television and some movies and some write, or play some video games, or whatever else they do all the time. But even if you dont have that many opportunities to learn about or benefit from something, its a lot more likely that you will be missing out on the opportunity cost by not doing it.
To miss out on opportunity cost, or to not be able to benefit yourself, is not the same thing as missing out on the opportunity cost. You can have a lot of opportunities and lots of opportunities cost you. If you choose not to do something, you are missing out on the opportunity cost of the opportunity you chose not to do.
In general, more opportunities create more opportunity cost.
Opportunity cost refers to the difference between a person with and without a job. That is, the amount of money you would have to invest/spend had you not been to work in a certain time period.
This makes a lot of sense, but I think we can use it in a slightly different way.
Opportunity cost is more related to how things are made. In other words, it’s not about what you must do to make money, but rather what it is that you do to make money. I’m sure you’ve heard of the phrase “the three Rs”, which refer to the most important aspects of a task.
If you have a job, you have to make money. If you don’t, you have to pay a penalty. The penalty is that you have to give up the ability to have a job altogether. The three Rs are the most important parts of the tasks, and if you’re not getting all three you are probably doing something wrong.
