The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The issue is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.
The problem is when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them. Whereas a person with self-awareness just hits the bottle and doesn’t look back.
If you’re on an autopilot, you probably are. It seems like most things we do are on autopilot because we’re so unaware of what’s going on, so when we stop and take some time to think about our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, we might find that they are actually helpful.
So, I think it’s reasonable to expect that if we don’t have these habits, then we wouldn’t be able to do anything at all. The best part of the new “self-awareness” episode is that we are still getting our work done while we’re doing our homework. I think that’s a good thing.
But it turns out that we are actually doing a lot more than we are actually thinking about. We might even find that our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions are actually really useful.
Now that we are on autopilot, we don’t have to think about it as much, we just get to do it. This is a good thing because it allows us to focus on other things.
Well, I think this is a good thing as well. We are still doing stuff and getting stuff done. All of the stuff that we were doing before were things that were productive since we’re on autopilot, but now we get to do that stuff in a way that is productive.
I think one of the most productive things to do is to just do what you were doing before, which is, you know, to focus on what you were doing before. Because now we are doing things that are productive, and the other stuff that you were doing before that was not, it just becomes irrelevant. You can do both at the same time, and I think you will be doing a lot of the things that you were doing before because we are on autopilot.
This is the point where we are going to get into the debate between the “self-improvement” and “self-management” camps. The self-improving camp is all about focusing on what you are doing to improve yourself. The self-management camp is all about focusing on what you are doing to manage yourself. I think the self-improvement camp does a better job of motivating people, but the self-management camp does a better job of motivating people to be better people.
