The company would rather you not know this because it gets a lot of free press and it might hurt it in the long run. But I know plenty of customers who don’t like that they have to pay for the same product you buy. So what’s the answer? Well, if it’s not going to cost you anything but time, then it’s not your company you’re dealing with, it’s the government. Because they see manufacturing as a service.
The company doesn’t even know about the ship you’re selling. It just says that if they want to ship you to another country and then ship you to another country they have no choice but to pay the same price for your product.
It’s all about the cost. It might be cheaper to ship the product to China or India or Mexico or wherever and then ship it to you than it is to manufacture the product and ship it to you.

The shipping companies simply charge a “commission” that is the same price for the product as it costs the company to manufacture the product at home. The government is not interested in the cost of the product, it is interested in the cost of shipping the product.
That’s right. Shipping costs are the only cost that the government cares about. The government is not interested in the cost of the product; it is interested in the number of parts it ships and the cost of shipping those parts across international borders. Our products are made outside of the U.S.
